What a useless talk!

I attended an event today relating to the property sector. The talk was about the Budget and property taxes. I wasn't interested, so why did I go?

I WENT TO NETWORK!

I showed a few nervous people how to break the ice.I did this by introducing one person to another ...then moving on where approriate.

I met Paul who asked me "Will you are so high profile for a small organisation, how do you do it?"

I explained and gave away lots of free and useful information. He showed interest in knowing more. I have followed him up already with an email - SPEED STUNS- and hope to start doing paid work in due course.

LESSONS TO LEARN
  1. If you don't go, you'll never know

  2. Always be generous with your advice if you think someone will benefit

  3. Play 'host' even if you're a guest at an event

HOW TO SAY THANK YOU

The best way in the world to say thank you is by sending a hand-written card. I got one today from a lovely lady. In fact not only is she very nice she represnts a large law firm and I will ask her if I can use her kind words as a testimonial.

IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW GOOD YOU SAY YOU ARE BUT WHEN A THIRD PARTY SAYS IT...YOUR PROSPECTS WILL BELIEVE IT

Everyday is an opportunity to learn

March 28
If you don't achieve something or learn something every day what's the point getting out of bed.
What have I learnt to day?
1 Networking is about giving first.
Two years ago Mark Clough asked me to speak for free at his company. The idea being I might get paid work later. This din't happen and Mark then left.
He called me up today reminding me I'd helped him out then and offered me a piece of work which could lead to lots more
2 Getting new colleagues via networking is the best and safest way.
Bev joins us next month. Her sister who knew Kintish saw an ad. on our website- mentioned it to Bev. Bev called and.....
3 There are some real genuine people in this world. Simon Wharton of PushON Digital Marketing came round, gave me 2 valuable hours about promoting my website and then we had a fight! I wanted to pay and he refused!!
4 GO TO THE GYM
The feeling you have driving home feel self-satisfied is worth asll the pain ans sweat
Are you into Property?

The sort of property I refer to is bricks and mortar, you know they have foundations, walls, roofs etc?

Well, I'm not. I'm into something far more exciting .
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
What is intellectual property?
I quote from the UK's Government Patent office
"Intellectual property, often known as IP, allows people to own their creativity and innovation in the same way that they can own physical property. The owner of IP can control and be rewarded for its use, and this encourages further innovation and creativity to the benefit of us all."

When you know something about anything and you don't copy the information verbatim ( that's stealing) you can create your own IP

What do I know about?
I know as much as anyone about effective networking, that's my IP. I have been studying the topic for 5 years now, read every book and been on every seminar. I then mixed all the information together as a cocktail and , hey presto, I have my own IP.
Whilst I spend most of my time training or presenting on the topic there are so many other ways to get your IP out there and then bought by others to help them develop their business.

March 28 2006
Today I was in my son Michael Kintish's recording studio producing my audio book.
We have the book , the tips booklet, the DVD, the audio CD's
The plan is for as many people as possible to learn effective networking in the most appropriate way for them...and I can stay at home with my ganddaughter earning some money
If you are a trainer, coach or consultant WHAT IP DO YOU HAVE which you can share with others?
